"Clare is the soul of integrity as well as the most remarkably gifted practitioner of rehabilitative Pilates …ever. My personal experience, as well as that of virtually every person I have referred to her in my many years of practice with her, reflects this assertion. She has healed and helped every person I had ever told about her. Truly an incredible and gifted healer."

"I first dislocated my shoulder about ten years ago. Then it happened again. And again, and again. In the few following years, I collected more elastic bands and massage balls from the army of physical therapists I visited than I knew what to do with. But, with no improvement on my shoulder despite following their directions. It was so frustrating that I basically gave up on trying to fix my shoulder. Then, one night at a party I was luckily standing within ear shot of a friend (who's an M.D.) who said to a stranger, "Wow, you know more about the human body that I do" which definitely caught my attention. Later that night I met that stranger who happened to be Clare. Small talk "coincidentally" turned toward my ailments and in the next ten minutes she was able to articulate so much of what I had been feeling in my shoulder but was unable to effectively communicate to anyone, and more importantly she was explaining what was causing those things. It honestly was more helpful than the sum of the PT's I had previously seen. Obviously I had to schedule an appointment with Clare for the next week. I had never done pilates before so didn't really know what to expect. Her patience and ability to make me feel comfortable in a foreign environment was really appreciated early on. Thanks to Clare's knowledge and experience, the gains were immediate and consistent. She always tailors the workouts to my needs and doesn't expect the opposite, which is how I always felt at PT. Fast forward three years and my shoulder is in amazing shape. And although I initially went to her to rehab my shoulder, she somehow managed to teach me about the rest of my body without me realizing it and I've fallen in love with pilates as a result. I would highly recommend Clare for anyone who wants a good workout and to learn more about their body in a supportive and fun environment."
"After birthing twins and another baby my body was broken. I went to Clare for a myriad of aches and pains and now several years later, I am positive I would barely be able to get out of bed and move around as well as I do if it wasn't for the magic she does to my body. She has tackled and fixed awful SI joint pain (lower back), is bringing me back from a partial plantar fascia tear- she's simply the most talented, knowledgeable instructor I've ever found. Her knowledge of body mechanics and physiology is wildly impressive. I leave every session feeling like a better version of myself physically - because my body always feels better and moves easier, and emotionally - because just being around her is joyful."
"I began to see Clare to address some lower back pain I'd been unsuccessfully trying to ignore for several months. In my first visit she gave me an assessment of my entire body, where I hold tension, areas where I may be prone to tightness, etc. which was far more in-depth than I had expected. She began to address my problem as well as the other issues she noticed from a "whole-body wellness" perspective. As I improved she continued to tailor the excercises in our visits to address new issues and to build upon newly developed strengths. This had the added benefit of keeping me motivated and interested - Clare gave me such a variety of excercises I was never bored. Since going to her this summer, not only has my crushing back pain virtually disappeared but my overall physical health has improved - I'm storing less tension in my body, I'm stronger, my body is more toned, and I feel much better. I cannot thank or recommend her enough."
"Clare is a truly special Pilates instructor and person. I had the pleasure to work with her for over five years. Clare is kind, thoughtful, funny and a true treasure. During that time, Clare has demonstrated a deep understanding of how my body works (or doesn’t for that matter) and was such a pleasure to work with.
I suffer from migraines and often had a stiff neck and shoulder as a result. Clare has been the only one who was able to release my neck and not only rid me of these aches and pains but also provided support and guidance in how to avoid getting “stuck” in the future, always pushing me towards positive changes. She would adapt each session based on how my body was feeling that week and what it needed. I would leave each one feeling taller and breathing better. She stands out as someone who is committed to her practice and has a real passion for Pilates. She demonstrated that week in and week out with caring and dedication that I admire and with a true compassion for her clients."
"For a long time I suffered from chronic tightness right smack dab in between my shoulder blades -- to the point I was constantly fidgeting; stretching (to no avail); and otherwise trying to alleviate that tension someway, somehow. Brought about by many years of weight lifting focused wholly on my chest, back, and arms, my body was all out-of-whack and bio-mechanically imbalanced (is how I describe it now). I tried seemingly everything to release the tension - i.e., acupuncture, chiropractor, massage, and yoga. All had minimal to no effect for me. Until I found Clare. From my vantage point, the process seemed to progress at a glacial pace and was often quite painful as she worked with me to start moving, kneading, and activating muscles and fascia that had very limited movement for quite some time. But the results have been undeniable - i.e., she was able to release the tension in my back that had plagued me for years. I'm not "fixed" but am on a path towards correcting or outright learning how to use my body more effectively and efficiently. An important epilogue to my personal story is that Clare's personality was the perfect complement for me -- knowing when to be supportive; when to show "tough love"; and always teaching during our sessions."
